Our technologies and industries

Our Developers

I love the variety of the work I do. The kind of projects I get have different components so I can mix up what I do on a day to day basis. Sometimes I do some front-end web development, and after I’ve done that for a while I can jump over to back-end work with servers and databases. Other times I’m given a task and given the freedom to tackle it however I want, which often leads to a chance to learn something new.

The experience for me as a Developer at Appinventiv, has been energising and motivating. Instead of fighting against processes to get my job done and get my code into production, I received strong & consistent support from each of the team members making it possible for me to churn continuous deliveries.

I always wanted to develop cutting-edge tech, write high quality code and work in a fast paced environment. Appinventiv’s agile methodologies and design thinking practices not only made all this a possibility but also gave me the freedom and digital expertise to continue exploring.

Type of Engineering Teams at Appinventiv

Before we set out to look into the process and streamlining of how we hire our talented developers, it is important to understand the different options which are available to you as an applicant.

On-site team of developers: Another name of this model is co-located team. Meaning, the developers that the organization has partnered with, works alongside the team in the office space. Most of the companies, even the big IT brands run on this model.

Distributed team of developers: This team does not have a physical office space, the team members do not communicate face to face and work from different locations. They don’t even necessarily have to be in the same city or country.

Remote team of developers: Just like the on-site model, remote developers also have an office. They don’t necessarily work from there in fact they only need access to a reliable and fast internet connection to work from any other location. Also, they generally have flexible working hours.

With the options addressed, let us look into our carefully articulated process of hiring developers for a startup.

Appinventiv’s Recruitment Flow for Hiring Developers

Application: Once you find a role that interests you, go ahead and apply with a well-drafted cover letter.

Screening: Your application will be read by the Appinventors who are experts in screening resumes and specialists in their respective fields

Technical Assessment: If your application is selected, you will be asked to complete a technical assignment online. Don’t worry, our validated assessments are engaging, fair and relevant to each role. This helps us measure skills, talents and abilities. This process allows you to truly demonstrate who you are and what value you can bring to the role.

Interview: If you are successful in completing the assessment, we will invite you for an interview. We treat this as an opportunity for us to get to know each other better. This is your chance to show us how much you want to work for Appinventiv. Come prepared with any questions you want to ask us, it is also your opportunity to interview us.

Searching for an approach to remain in front of the pack in the current serious and turbulent worldwide economy, organizations are relying on project management to reliably convey business results. Furthermore, more organizations are plainly seeing the result from contributing time, cash and assets to fabricate authoritative executives abilities like lower costs, more noteworthy efficiencies, improved client and partner fulfillment, and more prominent upper hand.

Almost every day in the life of a project manager is different. The challenges, obstacles they face every day, are different. The kind of stakeholders they need to communicate to and the resources and risks they need to mitigate, are different. In short, days are unpredictable. If at all, I have to sum up a typical day in the life of a project manager, it is about coordination and control.

At Appinventiv, being a project manager is all about managing people and resources through leadership, motivation and discipline which are the cornerstone of this profession. While these qualities are absolutely pivotal, the reality is you should also be at the forefront of technology and particularly project management tools. These tools are crucial as they will help you stay on top of schedules, budgets and more. We make use of certain project management tools to automate various tasks as far as managing projects go and we expect you to be aligned with such platforms. As far as these tools are concerned, the expectation may be that these tools are one-fit-all and that they pretty much apply to all projects. However, as a project manager at Appinventiv, we allow the freedom you need to get in tune with the tools YOU think are appropriate for a certain project.

Project management tools and solutions have always been the game-changing factor. The tools we use at Appinventiv will help you make positive changes in project management through;

 • Project planning: Uses data from previous projects to plan better
 • Scheduling and time tracking: Keeps track of time spent on tasks and manages scheduled events, meetings, milestones, and deadlines
 • Communication and collaboration: Lets you share critical information with team members, clients, stakeholders
 • Budgets and deadlines: Helps you deliver projects within the allocated budget
 • Progress tracking: Keeps track of the ongoing projects and if resources need to be adjusted

At Appinventiv, we understand that the success of a project depends on a lot of factors. These are, among others, people who work on it, appropriate management of the undertaking, tools used to manage tasks and a manager who coordinates the project. Obviously, we cannot forget about other very important factors such as finance, deadlines and technological facilities. Delivering regularly not only for yourself but on the behalf of an entire team is bound to get challenging at some point of time. Don’t be afraid to look for help and advice. Nobody expects you to know everything, even if you’ve been managing projects for decades. We will make sure that all the resources are aligned as per your need and the project requirement.

In order to dive deeper and project an honest picture of the nuances of working as a Project Manager with us, we asked some of our employees, and this is what they had to say.

If you’re looking to work with us as a Project Manager, we have listed and simplified the key roles and responsibilities to help you drive successful project management.

 1. Check in with the team members daily
 2. Assess the health of the project daily
 3. Update clients and stakeholders regularly
 4. Prioritize tasks to maximise productivity
 5. Keep a flexible schedule
 6. Set deadlines and stick to them
 7. Clarify the scale and scope of your project
 8. Delegate work and responsibilities appropriately
 9. Integrate the right project management software
 10. Take risk-mitigating measures
 11. Behold a financial prowess
 12. Keep quality as the paramount need
 13. Be a good listener and leader
 14. Passionate for problem solving

The world of a PM can get pretty compelling. It’s also exciting, rewarding, and always interesting. In order to stay on track, we suggest and push you to build your day around the daily tasks. As a project manager, you need to be rigid enough to drive a project to the finish line, yet flexible enough to deliver the product according to expectations as circumstances change.

Project Manager

Over the years, we’ve zeroed in on the traits that have made the most successful project managers. While companies are still fighting on finding the perfect manager for their projects, here is a quick glance at the basic qualities and skills of a project manager.

 • They learn constantly and never act like they know it all.
 • They know exactly what is to be delivered and by when.
 • They know the stakeholders’ expectations like the back of their hand.
 • They know the strengths and weaknesses of each technology and tool being used in the project.
 • They get the most out of their teams by understanding them collectively and individually.
 • They never blame the team for mishaps.
 • They take responsibility for knowing and resolving issues in real time.

To make a project easier to plan and control, we have grouped it into phases, with each phase having similar tasks and leading up to a major deliverable. The end of each phase is then marked by a project milestone. Here is an adequately phased approach at Appinventiv.

Stage 1: Initiation

This phase of project management marks the beginning of the project and is where the project charter is developed, and stakeholders are identified.

Stage 2: Planning

This is where the project plan is developed. That means costs are estimated, resources are determined, and requirements, scope and work breakdown structure are defined. This is also where risk is identified and planned for and where communications are built.

Stage 3: Execution

This project phase is where the project is carried out, all while procuring resources and managing stakeholder expectations.

Stage 4: Controlling/Monitoring

This phase is often carried out simultaneously with execution because this is where quality, scope creep, and cost/time allocations are monitored.

Stage 5: Closing

This stage of project management is where the project is finalized, the deliverable is given to the customer, stakeholders are told of the completion of the project, and all resources are released back to their resource managers.

Eventually, the goal of a project manager is to stay in business by offering solutions that teams need. Despite the size of a project, we all need someone who will be in charge of efficiency and productivity on them. Does your project need a project manager? 89% of high performing organizations agree that project managers are an asset. As project management is becoming a necessity of every business, we should focus on finding a leader who has the vision, the right skills, and knowledge to ensure on-time completion of projects. Project manager and project management are like two facets of a coin and for a project to be successful, bringing both into the picture is important. If I have convinced you that project management is indeed an interesting and wise choice, then kick-start your career with us.

The post Why Should You Consider UX Design Career in 2021? appeared first on Appinventiv.

]]>
User Experience is not something that came out of thin air, but rather came as naturally as ideas to us.

It wasn’t anything premeditated but developed with the evolution of technology and the world in general. Today, almost 2,38,000 designers across 1,29,000 companies in the US have sought a career in UX design.

As the need for user experience emerged over the years, the demand for experienced and exemplary UX designers by the commercial companies skyrocketed. In fact, concrete proof of this exponential popularity is the list of the 25 highest-paying entry-level jobs 2019 by Glassdoor, where the UX designer job category is in 6th position.

Look at this graph depicting the average salary of a fresher.

Graph Depicting The Average Salary Of a Fresher

Moreover, according to a source, there were over 24,000 job openings for the User Experience Designer job profile on Glassdoor in 2018 for the US only, something that is projected to rise by 22% in the coming ten years. This makes it an important point for aspirants to think of pursuing UX careers in 2021.

In this article, we will answer a few important questions related to a UX designer career like is ux design a good career, how to become a ux designer and are ux designers in demand.

What is UX Design?

In the eloquent words, UX design is something encompassing all aspects of the end-users’ interaction with a company, its services, and its products. User experience design service is not only fungible with usability and user interface but constitutes other areas as well.

This process undertakes the measures required in developing products and services rendering pleasing and meaningful experiences to the users and customers by seamlessly integrating aspects such as usability, branding, design, and functionality, among others. In fact, for the success of a mobile app, UX design has emerged as essential.

Reasons to Opt for UX Designer Career

1. Growth and opportunities (an obvious one)

With the ever-expanding market and need for products and services giving rise to the demand for more experienced and even fresher user experience designers, there are a bunch of opportunities knocking on the door.

Facts such as – people spend nearly 2 hours and 51 minutes every day on their mobile device and that 22% of users check their phones every few minutes, etc. suffice the need for proof of how prominent the job of a UX designer is getting. It is because the user experience designer is responsible for an impeccable user experience that leads to facts like these coming true.

2. Market demand

Market demand is a big player as an element adding up to the popularity of UX careers. Facts like every $1 invested in UX results in a return between $2 and $100 and that Intentional and strategic user experience holds the potential to boost conversion rates as high as 400% are enough to understand the reason behind this escalated demand that promises to only increase in 2020.

Do you see now how perfectly you fit into this situation? If this isn’t the right time for you to pursue this as a career, there never will be (hypothetically not literally).

3. Emergence of design-centric organizations

The evidently increasing demand, or rather a trend for the design has sprouted many design-based organizations (Coca-Cola, Nike, Apple, etc.) that are now one of the main attractions for many who want to pursue UX as a career.

The design has come to the forefront because it is beneficial for organizations. In fact, a study conducted in 2014 stated that “Results show that over the last 10 years design-led companies have maintained a significant stock market advantage, outperforming the S&P by an extraordinary 228%.”

Because design has become prominent, it automatically increases the need for proficient UX designers because the design is always focused on what users want and what kind of experience it can impart. And analyzing it all is what a user experience designer is famous for.

4. A rewarding field

The Average entry-level UX designer salary Graph

As we have discussed above, the average entry-level user experience designer salary in the USA can go as high as around $56,000 — $100,000; implying that for experienced individuals, it only goes up. A study by NN group shows that a user experience designer’s salary, on average, with 5 years of experience can amount somewhere around $90,000 to $100,000.

5. Scope of innovation and creativity

With every new technology comes more ideas and scope for creativity. There are a lot of niches in the market that UX designers can target, something that gives them scope to experiment and innovate.

It is a very happening career as you get to dive into the minds of users and empathize with them to deliver something out-of-the-box. So, if you are someone to whom empathy comes naturally and is eager to innovate and be creative then UX designing can prove to be an ideal career option for you.

6. Enhance the enjoyment of the devices

When you have the room to innovate and be artful, what you create gives pleasure to others. A user experience designer has the power to deliver products that are meant to make people’s lives better. For instance, do you think it was even possible for say, Apple to launch its iPhone 11 without the contributions of the UX design team? Of course, not.

7. No programming knowledge required

While understanding how the product works is useful for a user experience designer, it is not necessary to have deep programming knowledge. This can be a huge relief for those who are afraid or don’t want to dive into programming language education.

8. Diverse industries

Consumer tech and e-commerce industries are prominent industries for UX/UI designers, but they are by no means the only ones. Recent job listings have shown that UX professionals can play a crucial role in other sectors as well such as government, finance, education, healthcare, enterprise technology, video game development, and media.

Startups entering legacy industries are also seeing a need for UX professionals. This proves that there are plenty of opportunities for UX designers.

9. Solve creative business problems

If a business is struggling with customer sign-ups, sales, or conversion, a user experience designer can help assess weaknesses in the product or service and offer recommendations. A good UX design can lead to happier customers, fewer complaints, more sales, fewer abandoned carts, and higher profits. UX professionals have the potential to gain insight into what users think and feel, which means they can identify issues that are difficult to find.

10. Make technology more accessible:

UX researchers and UX designers work in tandem to understand what users want and their goals, the obstacles they face, and identify design solutions that can improve their experience and increase accessibility. A good UX design caters specifically to the needs of the elderly, vulnerable, and disabled by creating products that foster people’s independence, intelligence, and dignity.

Must-Have UX Designer Skills

The answer to the question of “How to become a UX designer?” is something very simple to start with – develop the needed skills. So, let’s have a look at some prominent UX designer skills for a good career.

1. User Research ability

Research in most job responsibilities plays a crucial and indispensable role. It tops the list of UX designer skills. To become an exemplary UX designer, you need to hone your research ability skills along with empathy, discovering users’ needs, and more. You would have to conduct surveys, questionnaires, interviews, user testing, and so on, so you should have a skill set for these functions. There is always something for UXers to learn in this respect from cognitive psychology to computer science.

2. Collaboration skills

Unless you are an all-rounder i.e., who knows everything from coding, design, marketing, understanding product, etc. it would be imperative for you to collaborate with others who are specialized in these areas. So, having appropriate skills will take you a long way and would help you improve.

3. Impeccable Visualization

All the designs are extremely and fundamentally graphic in nature, meaning that any UX designer would have to be proficient in visual communication and language. In this respect, one should have a clear understanding of certain concepts like color, layout, typography, icons, images, and design theory.

4. Communication skills

Venn diagram of key responsibility areas of UXers

Looking at a Venn diagram we already know that UXers have a lot on their plate in terms of key responsibility areas. So, to handle all the operations effectively, one needs to have strong communication skills. Other communication-dependent tasks include workshops, presenting results, conducting interviews, and more.

5. Familiarity with Coding

Just imagine the demand for a design-developer? It is like the best of both worlds – design and development. A Design in Tech report 2017 stated that most of the designers (almost one third) had engineering training; implying that most of the designers out there already have coding skills, so one who is preparing to be a UX designer should most definitely catch up on this trend.

6. Wireframing and Prototyping

A UX developer with exemplary skills for creating wireframes and prototypes is like a diamond in the heap of stones. This skill helps them to communicate their ideas more elaborately and effectively for others to grasp. These can vary from hand-drawn sketches and models to high-fidelity digital mockups. So, an ideal UX designer must have some knowledge about wireframing and prototyping tools as well.

7. User Empathy

When you understand what users want and feel, you’re more equipped when it comes to finding a solution to their problem. If you are detached from your end-users, you fail to design as per their needs and preferences, which can ultimately lead to a terrible user experience. That’s why user empathy is an important skill for a UX designer.

8. Prioritization and Time Management

Companies are often looking for UX designers who can prioritize tasks and manage their time to address the most critical needs first. You might be working on multiple projects over the course of a day, but staying organized and flexible in your current tasks will help you set up for success in the world of UX design.

9. Information Architecture

Information architecture is one of the most important UX designer skills. IA involves organizing and structuring content properly. IA helps users find the information they’re looking for or complete their task. UX designers can facilitate this by making it easy for users to understand where they are, where they need to go, and what’s next. Information architecture may include systems like labeling, navigation, and search functions.

If you’re new to information architecture, start out by studying some common website IA patterns. You can also practice by creating a sitemap of a website or app you enjoy. Do this a few times, and try to identify the elements that lead to good IA.

These are a few must-have UX designer skills that one must possess in order to become a successful user experience designer. Moving forward, we will discuss how to get into ux design and how to change your career to UX design.

How to Change Your Career from Web Design to UX Design?

There are some areas in Web designing and UX designing where they require certain skills set. So, if you are planning to switch from the former to the latter, then it is not an impossible task.

For starters, you just need to analyze the skills you are lacking for UX and then work on them. Then, you will have to become conversant with the fundamentals of UX and how it works. For this, you can refer to online tutorials and reading materials, offline books, and so on.

When you are all caught up with it theoretically, it is time to do some action, so start developing your portfolio. Doing this, you will be able to attract customers as a freelancer and get your UX designer career up and running.

Now you know how to get into UX design from web design, let’s discuss a few popular myths related to UX careers.

Popular Myths Related to a Career in UX Design

Of course, the tradition of myths has to pervade here too. Over the years, many myths and beliefs related to UX careers have surfaced and we are about to burst them all today to guide you towards the truth about UX design.

Myth 1: UX and UI designers perform the same functions

While UI and UX design are two integral parts of a project which are in complete harmony with each other, there is a critical difference in the responsibilities of UI and UX designers.

UX design is considered to be a process of enhancing and increasing users’ satisfaction by improving accessibility, usability, and of course pleasure produced in the communication of the user and product.

On the other side of the table, UI design is majorly focused on the design of the interface elements used by the users to complete and accomplish a certain goal within the application. It is, to say loosely, a small but integral part of the bigger machine of UX.

UX UI Venn Diagram

The questions that a UX designer is concerned with during the UX design process are – Do you feel confused or lost? Is it easy to navigate through the app? How can one figure out where to click to get the desired result. Whereas, a UI designer answers the question- How did that feature make you feel? Did you find the color scheme consistent, and so on.

Myth 2: Programming skills are a must to become a UX Designer

Though it is a skill that is beneficial for someone who wants to become a proficient UX developer, it is not an absolute necessity. You can master other prominent UX developer skills that will help you in your career.

Myth 3: Anybody can easily score in the UX Designer career

Technically, you can say that anyone can pursue this career, however, it requires certain internal skills for a person to have to be able to work efficiently. For instance, a person must love people and has to be curious by nature to question why people do what they do and how certain things make them feel. Doing this allows the whole team to create a product that is over-all fulfilling to the users.

Myth 4: Graphic design skills are imperative

It is not at all a mandate for a person to possess graphic designing skills to become a UX designer. The dramatic difference between the two is enough to justify the above statement – graphic designing revolves around the aesthetics and the physical appearance of the product including its color, size, fonts, etc., and on the contrary, UX design is all about the experience of the user.
